Hair trends from Korea for Spring Summer 2011

New hair trends from Asia for Spring Summer 2011. We talked to Tatyana Kapitonov, top stylist at Park Juns, one of the best known hair salons in Seoul, Korea. We asked her about the latest hair trends in Seoul, and talked about new hair colors, hair products, what's in… what is out… here what she told us.

Which is the main hair trend we will see - in your opinion - for the spring summer 2011 season in Korea, and in Asia in general?
I think we'll see less structured hair, with lots of layers and a few fringes

Where do the most important influences come from, in Korea, at the moment when talking about hair trends?
Mostly hair trends come from tv dramas as well as fashion magazines

Color. Is color an option and eventually which are the most trendy hair colors for the spring summer 2011 season?
Color is everywhere now in Seoul, it's definitely an option. I'm seeing lot's of reds and violets, some are more daring and go lighter gold and mocha.

Can you give your comment on the following items, when talking about hair trends for asian women for the spring summer 2011 season? (in or out - try them or avoid them - why) BOB - Fringe - Layers - Crop - Color
Bob is great as long as it's just below the chin line, always in and looks striking on an Asian face, Fringe is also in and works well. Layers are good and sometimes a necessity for thick Asian hair, longer layers are still in for the next season. Color yes! In, but keep soft and 'calm'. Crop: not in so much and also a tough style to pull of with Asian hair structure.

Which are the most important products every girl should use in order to take good care of her hair?
Professional shampoo and conditioner as well as a clarifying shampoo once a week to remove product build-up. Thermal protection if using hair dryers and flat irons. It's getting warmer and sunny outside, hair needs sun protection just like our skin. A good sunflower extract spray or leave in conditioner like Paul Mitchell Color Protect is a must for the coming up weather.
